Is it okay for a mom who tested positive for THC to breastfeed or express milk for her baby in the NICU? What does current research say about the effects of THC on infant neurodevelopment? How can we offer lactation support to moms currently using marijuana?
Join us on 4/20 for an interactive webinar on marijuana and breastmilk, hosted by CPQCC’s Maternal Substance Exposure (MatEx) Workgroup.
Dr. Christine Bixby, Neonatologist and Medical Director of Lactation Services at Children's Hospital Orange County (CHOC) will offer an engaging talk on current research, official recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and others, and best practices around THC and breastmilk use. A live Q&A will follow.
This webinar is hosted by the Maternal Substance Exposure (MatEx) Workgroup which oversees CPQCC's MatEx Database. The MatEx Database collects data on infants with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) in order to improve their care. To learn more about this database, submit a help ticket or email info@cpqcc.org.
