CPQCC research into disparities in NICU care has revealed considerable gaps in family-centered care. To address these gaps, in January 2021 CPQCC launched a pilot study of NICU-specific measures of family-centered care, developed in partnership with a national panel of experts and NICU family representatives. Improving family-centered care through measurement and feedback will ensure that NICU families, including the most marginalized, are better supported in caring for their infant.
