Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, where she specialized in Nursing Informatics. Beginning her neonatal nursing journey at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL, Courtney initially served as a staff nurse in the NICU before transitioning into the role of Clinical Educator. Upon relocating to the Bay Area, she shifted her focus to quality improvement at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, eventually assuming the position of Medical Staff Quality Manager.

In 2000, Courtney joined CPQCC as a graduate student with a keen interest in neonatal quality improvement, later assuming the role of managing all aspects of the organization's quality improvement efforts. Her responsibilities include coordinating PQIP activities, CPQCC collaboratives, and educational conferences. Passionate about perinatal health, NICU quality and equity, as well as family-centered care, Courtney's publication topics encompass delivery room management, breastmilk nutrition, and neonatal quality improvement initiatives.

Driven by a commitment to effecting positive change, Courtney finds fulfillment in collaborating with CPQCC sites and colleagues to enhance neonatal care across California. She embraces the opportunity to work alongside PQIP colleagues, recognizing the collective impact they can make in advancing perinatal healthcare outcomes.
