Burnout is common among physicians in the United States, affecting an estimated 30-40%. Some studies find that this phenomenon may be increasing, affecting greater than 50% of physicians nationwide.  During the November 2017 Data in Action webinar, Dr. Jochen Profit discusses burnout and safety culture as contextual factors of health care delivery and explores the links between context and the success of quality improvement efforts and clinical outcomes.  Dr. Profit concludes with possible solutions to promoting a healthier context of care. Dr.Profit is CPQCC's Chief Scientific Officer and leads the WISER Study, a web-based intervention designed to enhance resilience and reduce burnout among health workers.
