Join us on November 3rd for a webinar introducing CPQCC's new quality improvement toolkit: "Preventing Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI) in the NICU."
Formerly published in 2007, this update to the HAI Toolkit incorporates the latest evidence and potentially better practices for preventing neonatal hospital-acquired infections. The 2022 update builds upon the CLABSI prevention efforts detailed in the prior toolkit and shifts the focus toward a broader approach to HAI prevention by encouraging the use of “hospital-acquired bacteremia” or “non-CLABSI bloodstream infection” incidence as an important and more global measurement of NICU quality.
The new toolkit supports NICU healthcare providers and leaders in evaluating current HAI prevention performance and practices, outlines potentially better practices, and provides examples of tools and checklists to assist HAI prevention efforts, including identifying focused opportunities for quality improvement.
The Preventing HAI in the NICU Toolkit covers critical topics such as:
- Hand Hygiene
- NICU Quality Improvement and Culture
- General Principles of HAI Prevention
- Skin Considerations and HAI Prevention
- Antibiotic Stewardship & Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms
This introductory webinar will allow attendees to hear directly from the toolkit authors and to participate in a Q&A panel discussion on HAI prevention.
The revised toolkit will be released as part of the webinar.
