Wildfire Relief for California Families

Jan 16, 2025

CPQCC Is Supporting Relief Efforts for Families Impacted by the Southern California Wildfires

CPQCC is collaborating with Mighty Little Giants to support NICU families impacted by the California wildfires (donations are tax deductible). These families are in urgent need of essentials like diapers and pack-and-plays, and Mighty Little Giants is stepping in to provide emergency supplies. Let’s come together to lend a helping hand. Your generosity can make a world of difference. Please consider donating here to support these Southern California NICU families during this challenging time. Every contribution brings hope and comfort to those in need. Kindly share this with your network to help us reach those who may benefit.

Support for Breastfeeding Families: Breastfeeding remains critically important during emergencies, providing essential nutrients and protection for infants. The following resources were gathered and developed by the California Breastfeeding Coalition. If you or someone you know needs support, these resources may be of help:

  • Local Resources: Connect with local breastfeeding coalitions across California to find personalized assistance in your area. Find support here. Also BreastfeedLA also has an incredible resource directory that includes a resources map to help find support.
  • Donor Milk: If you’re in need of donor milk or wish to contribute, you can use The Human Milk Banking Association of America’s Find a Milk Bank map. We also recommend checking out our How to Become a Donor section on our website if you are interested in donating human milk.
  • Donating Items & Volunteering: BreastfeedLA is collecting donations of baby items such as breast pumps, diapers, wipes, baby clothes and other essentials to assist families affected by the fires. If you have items you’d like to donate please contact Brenda at  bvieyra@breastfeedla.org with the items you wish to donate as well as your city. If you’d like to volunteer at a donation site or offer lactation services you can also contact Brenda with your availability.
  • Emergency Preparedness: The CDC has a great guide for safe breast milk storage and formula preparation during emergencies that you can access. If you are being affected by the Southern California fires this is a great resource. Infant Feeding in Emergencies Guide.
