Jessica Gates is the Coordinator for the High Risk Follow Up Program at Valley Children's Hospital. She loves working with the babies after their NICU stay. Jessica often feels like she is getting paid to play with babies and toddlers which does not seem fair but is usually quite fun. She gets to work with a wonderful staff who also love the babies and they all find the work with the families and children quite rewarding after a NICU stay. Being able to teach parents about childhood development and connecting them to local resources is important and satisfying as well, especially when they get to see the improvements the babies make after being connected to the correct services. Ensuring that patients and families are able to access the resources that they need to help their child thrive as much as possible is Jessica's motivation.
