Shanna Sauer

Shanna Sauer is the HRIF Clinic Coordinator at Kaiser San Francisco, where she is responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary outpatient follow-up of infants requiring developmental screening and specialty care after discharge from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Leveraging my extensive NICU background, I now find it an honor to serve this patient population in the High-Risk Infant Follow-up (HRIF) clinic, where seeing these babies blossom through early interventions into thriving children with their families is deeply rewarding.

At Kaiser San Francisco, Shanna is motivated by collaborating with an amazing HRIF team—comprising Physical Therapists, Neonatologists/Pediatricians, Registered Dieticians, Social Work, and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner—to advocate for patients and make a true difference in the lives of high-risk infants and their families.

Drawing from a distinguished career of nearly 30 years as a Registered Nurse, Shanna leverages her 15 years of experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and her time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This specialized background in managing complex cases and providing compassionate support to families now allows her to successfully coordinate long-term care and manage cases for high-risk infants.

Shanna holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of San Francisco.
